Dentro de las proyecciones de la firma alemana B. Braun en Colombia está la apertura en 2019 de una nueva planta de suturas en Mosquera, en Cundinamarca.
Con esta nueva infraestructura, la meta es generar hasta 200 empleos directos, así como aumentar la producción para exportar a países como Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y México.
En el municipio de Mosquera (Cundinamarca) está la planta productora de la empresa.

La planta empezó a construirse hace dos años y está en las últimas pruebas para alcanzar el máximo volumen de producción posible.

La idea es pasar de 130 empleados a 170 trabajadores para este año, al mismo tiempo que crecerá de un volumen de 4 millones de unidades de suturas por año a más de 20 millones. Con eso atenderán exportaciones a países de Latinoamérica y Europa, explicó Nikolai Engel, gerente general Avitum, división de Diálisis de B. Braun.
Desde hace más de medio siglo, esta empresa nacida en Melsungen, pequeña población situada al norte de Fráncfort (Alemania), llegó a Colombia, y desde ese momento se ha expandido con sus diferentes líneas de negocio en el sector de la salud.

B.Braun llegó al país en el año 1963, comenzó como una marca fabricante y comercializadora de suturas quirúrgicas, así como importadora de toda clase de dispositivos médicos para el mercado local y de América Latina.
Desde entonces, la marca demostró su confianza con el mercado nacional, lo que ha impulsado su crecimiento e innovación, factores que le han permitido alcanzar importantes metas recientes como la atención de casi 2.000 pacientes renales, la generación de más de 300 empleos adicionales y ventas que superan los $20.000 millones, según el ejecutivo Nikolai Engel.
Actualmente, B.Braun cuenta con siete clínicas en el país ubicadas en Bello (Antioquia), Medellín, Popayán, Armenia, Pereira, Cúcuta y Bogotá.
El año pasado realizó importantes inversiones en tres de estos centros, trasladando las instalaciones de Bello y Popayán a nuevas sedes.
Igualmente, amplió y adecuó la sede de Bogotá con el único fin de garantizar los más altos estándares clínicos y humanizar los servicios. Es así, como amplió el Centro de Cuidado Renal Las Américas, ubicado en el suroccidente de la capital de Colombia.
De igual manera, las instalaciones cuentan con 10 puntos adicionales y nuevos equipos de hemodiálisis, que llegaron a complementar los ya existentes, y continuar así la prestación de este servicio vital con altos estándares de calidad.
Dicha transformación incluyó la instalación de una planta de tratamiento de agua de alta tecnología producida por la misma empresa alemana, que permite un ahorro hasta del 30% de este recurso, reafirmando de esa manera el compromiso de la marca con el medio ambiente y el cuidado de los recursos naturales, según indicó Engel.
LAS ÁREAS DE NEGOCIO
La compañía tiene 4 divisiones presentes en Colombia. OPM que se encarga de atención de pacientes crónicos con úlceras y heridas, problemas de sistema urinario, diabetes y ostomías. Está Hospital Care, que reúne los productos para tratamientos de
pacientes hospitalizados en área crítica.
La tercera es Aesculap, encargada de los productos para cirugía, apertura, intervención, cierre y reacondiciona- miento de los pacientes. Y finalmente, está Avitum, la división renal.
